Saudi Research and Media Group (SRMG) has been appointed to run and manage Al Thaqafeya, the cultural television channel affiliated with the kingdom’s Ministry of Culture.
The channel, which launched in 2023 and was previously operated by MBC Group, is dedicated to showcasing the diversity of Saudi Arabia’s cultural landscape, from its rich heritage to its contemporary creative scene.
Jomana Rashed Alrashid, CEO of SRMG, said: “We are honoured by the Ministry of Culture’s trust. Being awarded responsibility for a channel as important as Al Thaqafeya is both a privilege and a responsibility to continue the significant work led by the Ministry since the channel’s launch.
“It also reflects SRMG’s ongoing efforts to develop and expand across media platforms, diversify revenue streams, and maintain the trust of our clients and audiences through credible, high-quality content.”
SRMG says it plans to advance the channel’s editorial direction, expand its content offering to serve a broader range of audience interests, and strengthen its digital presence, with an enhanced programming grid expected to launch gradually, starting in September.
