The UAE media community is mourning the loss of journalist Arnold Pinto, who died last week following a cardiac arrest at his home in Sharjah.

Pinto was Chief Editor of news website Middle East News 247, having previously been Managing Editor at Continental Multimedia, where he edited Dubai Metro commuter magazine Read. among others.

John Thomas, Founder & Chief Editor of Blogliterati.com, said: “Every time I crossed paths with him at press conferences or industry events, our conversations were always about how the UAE media landscape evolved over the past two decades.

“Witnessing this shift as fellow editors who managed two noted publications, we often exchanged perspectives on the challenges of sustaining traditional journalism in a digital era. Beyond the newsroom, we often connected over our love for the outdoors, as camping was a hobby we both dearly cherished.”

He added: ”The media industry has lost a respected professional and a voice of wisdom. My deepest condolences to his family, colleagues, and friends. May he rest in peace. His contributions to UAE media will be remembered and valued for years to come.”
